The Indiana University Interdepartmental Global Health Residency Track is now welcoming applications. This Global Health Track engages highly-motivated residents from all specialties to better understand the social, economic, cultural and environmental factors that contribute to health and disease throughout the world.
The program seeks to equip residents to address health disparities and encourages long-term commitment to global health issues, both domestic and international. Participating residents have opportunities to engage in both local and global electives that foster hands-on learning in global health as well as collaborate with others through joint learning sessions, journal clubs, and case-based discussions.
Residents receive a certification in global health from the IU Center for Global Health. Applicants generally enter the track in spring of their PGY1 year but may enter anytime as long as they have 2.5 years remaining in training.
Requirements of the track:
- 80% attendance at quarterly half-day didactic sessions
- Scholarly project
- Mentorship
- Local or international global health elective.
In the event they are chosen for the Track, interested residents should clear their calendars for our upcoming Global Health Track half-day conferences in the afternoons of February 25 and May 6, 2021. Applicants will be notified if they are invited to join the track in late January.
Visit IU School of Medicine for more information.
