These cultural immersion exposures, whether they occur across Indiana or the world, provide transformative experiences that heighten trainees’ self-awareness of personal and professional values, positively influence their career trajectory, and broaden their worldview.

The Academic Model Providing Access to Healthcare (AMPATH) is a partnership between academic health centers around the world, led by Indiana University, and Moi University and Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital in Eldoret, Kenya. Learners have unique opportunities for training through AMPATH’s long-standing commitment to education, research and care.
IU School of Medicine’s Interdisciplinary Residency Pathway in Global Health engages residents from diverse specialties to better understand the factors that contribute to health throughout the world. The program equips residents to address health disparities globally and locally.
