NPGH Research Fellows Training Consortium
Indiana University is a member of the Northern/Pacific Global Health (NPGH) Research Fellows Training Consortium. Other members of the consortium include University of Washington, University of Hawai’i, University of Michigan and the University of Minnesota.
The Global Health Fellowship Program is a 12-month clinical research training program available to US and LMIC (low- and middle- income countries) post-doctorate trainees and doctoral students in the health professions, sponsored by the NIH’s Fogarty International Center (FIC) in partnership with several NIH Institutes and Centers.
Trainees spend 12 months at their research sites and work closely with mentors domestically and abroad. Trainees receive a monthly stipend, a modest research budget and US trainees receive travel costs to and from their international site.
Eligibility requirements:
- Must be a citizen or permanent resident of the US, Peru, Ghana, Cameroon, Kenya, Uganda, Liberia, Nepal, India or Thailand.
- Must conduct research at an approved site in country (list available on website).
- Must currently be enrolled in a doctoral program/post-doctoral fellowship or have completed one in the last 5 years.
