Indiana Hemophilia and Thrombosis Center (IHTC) Hematology Program Support
Through the IHTC program, care and education is provided for benign hematology services through the AMPATH partnership in Kenya. Health care workers are trained on the diagnosis, treatment, and management of hemophilia and sickle cell disease through educational conferences; and diagnostic screening, confirmatory testing, medications, and follow-up care is offered to those who live with these conditions in western Kenya. Various cadres of AMPATH health personnel are mentored by IHTC staff counterparts in various clinical and administrative areas leading to annual exchanges in Indianapolis and Eldoret, Kenya.
