The Indiana University Interdepartmental Global Health Residency Track is now welcoming applications. This Global Health Track engages highly motivated residents from all specialties to better understand the social, economic, cultural, and environmental factors that contribute to health and disease throughout the world.
The program seeks to equip residents to address health disparities and encourages long-term commitment to global health issues, both domestic and international. Participating residents have opportunities to engage in both local and global electives that foster hands-on learning in global health as well as collaborate with others through joint learning sessions, journal clubs, and case-based discussions. Residents receive a certification in global health from the IU Center for Global Health. Applicants generally enter the track in spring of their PGY1 year but may enter anytime as long as they have 2.5 years remaining in training.
Requirements of the track:
- 80% attendance at quarterly half-day didactic sessions
- a scholarly project
- mentorship
- local or international global health elective.
In the event they are chosen for the Track, interested residents should clear their calendars for our upcoming Global Health Track half-day conferences in the afternoons of February 16 and May 11, 2023. Visit IU School of Medicine for more information. Applicants will be notified if they are invited to join the track in late January.
Please submit a CV, statement of interest, and simple statement of support from your program director to Victoria Eder. Please include a photo of yourself (just so we can put a face with a name; it does not need to be a professional photo and there is no certain size requirement).
