The Center for Global Oncology and Health Equity at the IU Melvin and Bren Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center launched a monthly seminar series focused on various aspects of global oncology. The events occur on the first Thursday of each month at 8 a.m. (ET).
The Center's director, Patrick J. Loehrer, Sr., MD, presented the first episode in April entitled "Global Oncology--The AMPATH Experiment."
In May, Terry Vik, MD, presented "Project ECHO and Telemedicine: Changing the Landscape of Cancer Care and Education in Kenya."
The July seminar at 8 a.m. ET on July 7 will feature Elkanah Omenge Orang'o , MD, gynecological oncologist, Department of Reproductive Health, Moi University School of Medicine in Eldoret, Kenya, presenting "Building Capacity and Sustainability for Comprehensive Gynecological Oncology Care in a Resource Constrained Setting.”
